Gathering the Central Administration at UiB

In the fall of 2023, the University of Bergen gathered the central administration in a sustainable and completely renovated building in Nygårdsgaten 5. Earlier, the departments were located in different parts of the city centre. The aim is to create a more flexible, future-oriented and innovative organisation that is able to work more quickly and efficiently.

The programme UiB Tjenesteutvikling has overall responsibility for processes related to Nygårdsgaten 5. It has facilitated extensive processes around the concept development pertaining to office spaces in the building, ensuring employee participation since the project started in 2019.

Communications have been key to facilitate the process. What have been the challenges of communicating to several hundreds of employees? And what has been successful measures and channels to achieve our goals?

Works mainly with internal communications at UiB. Has experience from research, education and ocean industries, as well as a background from international relations.
