Social programme

NUASkom 24 starts off wednesday with a social programme where you get to see some of Copenhagen's gems and at the same time catch up with your Nordic colleauges. Choose one of the following options when you register for the conference. Each tour has a max capacity and spots are given on a first come first served basis. 

After the tours we meet up for the welcome reception in the university's beautiful Ceremonial Hall

Thursday evening bring your dancing shoes when we throw a party and the conference dinner at CPH Hotel

Canal Tour
We take you on a historic journey where you will get to see both famous and classic sights as well as lesser-known areas of the city. You’ll experience all the famous sights and iconic landmarks, including the famous Little Mermaid, the majestic Amalienborg Castle – home of the royal family, and the old Stock Exchange building. Take in the beauty and history of the city as we sail through the historic harbor and narrow canals. We sail to the hip, trendy Nordhavn and also a bit down south near the raw, urban Sydhavnen.
The tour is guided in English and you will enjoy drinks, snacks and a good chat with your NUAS peers along the way.

The boat is covered but you may need a sweater in cool weather, as you wil likely open the windows to get a better view

Tour of Freetown Christiania
There are many different 'truths' about the independent state Christiania. On a guided tour led by a 'born' christianit, you get a real insight into Christiania's structure and history and at the same time hear the guide's own 'truth' about Christiania. The Tour Group is, like Christiania itself, a group of different people who have lived most of their lives in Christiania, and have taken part in both the political, cultural and social life of Christiania. Guided tours of Christiania are not pre-scripted, where everyone has the same experience. Everyone is given a short factual historic summary, but after that guests receive an individual account of the Christiania story based upon the guide's own experience, which makes each tour a unique event.
At the end of the tour you will enjoy drinks and snacks at Café Nemoland.

Vesterbro Beer Tour
Join this beerlicious tour and venture into what used to be the roughest neighborhood in Copenhagen: Vesterbro. Once the land of drugs, porn, and prostitution, today it’s one of the city’s trendiest districts — and also one of the best places to find a good beer. Hear the rocky story of this controversial neighborhood and the development of the surrounding area as you share a couple of brews with the locals on the Vesterbro beer tour in Copenhagen. Learn the seedy history of Vesterbro and wander streets once frequented by shady locals and travelers, experience where locals live and love to hang out with pit-stops in two beloved and distinctive pubs,  experience how gentrification is transforming a shady neighborhood into a hip urban area, while attempting to safeguard the areas feel through various social initiatives. Discover that beer really makes Vesterbro better!

Academic Walk - tour of the University Square
In the heart of Copenhagen is the Latin quarter, which has been the centre of higher learning in Denmark for more than 800 years. Here is the University Square, which houses a number of the city's most interesting buildings, including the oldest building in Copenhagen. Our University Historian will guide you through the university's main building from 1836, the Senate building from approx. 1420 with the historic dungeon, the monks ' basement and the university Library from 1861.
Lots of interesting stories from past generations’ university life are guaranteed. After the tour you will enjoy drinks and snacks in the monks’ basement.
Note the tour option for latecomers. You can go straight to the welcome reception in the Ceremonial Hall afterwards

Welcome reception

Feel the breath of history as you enter first the vestibule and then the university ceremonial hall itself for the welcome reception. We will bid you a warm welcome to NUAS Communication 2024 with an entertaining program and time for networking while you enjoy a light meal and drinks.
Optional late registration if you did not make it during the day.

Conference dinner

Let's have a party! We serve you up a welcome drink, snacks, a three course dinner, a few drinks, tea and coffee. After dinner it is time to move your feet to the band, or you can hang out for a chat with your colleagues and new connections in the calmer lounge. If you need a bit of fresh air, you can go out at the roof terrasse overlooking the hip Kødbyen (Meatpacking District). When we finish the free drinks you can buy more at the bar.
